Winter Driving Courses, Quad Bikes, Snow Ploughs and Gritters!

Well 2011 is here, and the snow has already been and gone, but we're not betting it won't be back again.

It's going to be a busy year for us, we've been training quad bike riders to use snow ploughs and gritters (and strangely enough, a brusher for an astroturf football pitch - not seasonal, but...).

We've been training 4x4 drivers in winter driving courses - how to deal with the ice and snow conditions on road, without falling foul of the perennial problem of trying to use a big heavy vehicle where traction is nearly non-existent. They may have twice the traction, but they don't suddenly become able to steer or stop any better than other vehicles.

All of a sudden, contractors are looking at training for Polaris Rangers and Mules as a safer and more efficient mode of transport to remote areas than quad bikes, in most situations other than forestry.

So we're a bit snowed under with work, even if the roads are now clear.

Have a great 2011!
