2010 has started with a huge upturn in requests for Off Road Training, with an especially busy period for Quad Bike and ATV Training.
It seems that the HSE are pushing companies to ensure that their riders and drivers are properly trained on their machines, as required by the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER). The HSE recommend the Lantra training courses for off-road operators, as they are designed to ensure safe use and operation under a variety of conditions, and they include training on how to carry out safety checks (one of the other requirements).
More and more companies are realising the industrial applications of off-road vehicles and machines, and thankfully, it seems that they are also aware of the advantages of having trained operators.
All of our courses are intended to make operators aware of the dangers, but also to help them improve their efficiency by understanding the capabilities of the machines and performing regular checks on them.
We have been told many times by customers that by sending their operators on a Beyond Driving training course they have saved more than the cost of the training, by reducing incidents, damage to vehicles, operator downtime and maintenance costs.
